Dementia Treatment

Without a diagnosis, people cannot receive the support, information and treatment available to live well with dementia.

If you are concerned that you may have dementia, speak to your GP to see if an assessment can be carried out.

Dementia is progressive, which means it gets worse over time. However, many people with dementia lead active and fulfilling lives for many years.

There isn’t a cure but, depending on the type of dementia, medication can slow down its progression.

If you take medication, you should have regular check ups with a doctor or medical professional to see how well it’s working.
