Treatment for epilepsy

There isn’t a cure for epilepsy, but you can take medicine to control your seizures.

These drugs are known as antiepileptic drugs or AEDs. It can take time to find the right AED and dose for you, but about 7 in 10 cases can be controlled with this type of treatment.

Some people might need an electrical device fitting to help control their seizures. Sometimes an operation’s needed.
